Children’s Casting

Workshop, Jaywick Essex (excerpt from documentation)

Self Initiated educational workshop organised during the Jaywick residency, focusing on children’s education and care through research into the Summerhill School ethos and Anna Davin’s book Growing up Poor (1996). The workshop taught casting techniques in the church hall where children from the group Inclusion Ventures could take work home with them. The residency highlighted research as part of a set of activities in a public setting linked to the transmission of working class histories outside an institutional academic context.
