Bread Table

Jaywick, Essex

This work deals with school exclusion and links to issues of consumption, food and production. The children’s bike tour, organised for the final day of the Jaywick residency provided an opportunity for them to share and view work produced by our group. Taking casts in baking silicone of other art works, I baked bread for the children to eat when they visited me. Situating myself in a disused carpark and remaining there for 3 hours was a way of locating myself in a place where I was both familiar and unfamiliar.
