Daily newspaper articles began to document the pressure imposed on mothers during lockdown. Many women had requests to be furloughed rejected, and struggled to cope as the place of work moved uneasily into the home. Mirroring the voices of dissent, this work deals with how these sudden shifts bring about equivalent changes in the legal system, highlighted by a worrying increase in employers firing women who worked at home with children.
